Overview
The A-164 Wipeout is used for Air Interdiction, as well as Close Air Support. The previous model, being the A-10 ceased to be produced in 2030. All weaponry from the jets featured on Altis have however been removed.
Roles
- Utilised for Reconassisance
- Recreational Use
- Formerly Used as a Ground Attack Craft, providing Close Air Support - This was prior to them being disarmed.
Design
The A-164 Wipeout is a ground attack jet, supplied with twin turbofan engines. It uses a cantilever low-wing monoplane wing design with a wide chord.
Mobility
The A-164 Wipeout has a slower stall speed - Combining this with the usage of decelerons allows for The Wipeout to perform well keeping closer to the ground at a lower altitude.
The design of The A-164 Wipeout is however rather outdated at this point. The time it takes to reach the top speed is significantly higher than other jets you might find around the island of Altis. It is also slightly less responsive, easily losing speed with each turn you make. The A-164 absolutely works for mild reconcassisance or for recreational use - but it has been found to be aerodynamically inferior compared to other Jets, such as ones utilised by CSAT.
Noteable Traits
- The A-164 Wipeout is easy to detect at full range, both by radars and by infrared/visual censors. There is very little stealth attributes to this aircraft, and this often leaves it vulnerable.
- The A-164 Wipeout is unable to be slingloaded by a CH-67 Huron
Crew Capacity
- There is room for one singular pilot.
