Altis Bus Service

The Altis Bus Service is a public transport service run by you, the citizens of Altis, for the citizens of Altis. Alongside the Taxi Service it is one of the primary forms of transport for newer members. It is a surprisingly simple form of earning money and often a great way to meet new people and have some fun, interesting experiences. Hopefully, this page will serve as a step-by-step guide to helping you become Altis' next favourite Bus Driver!

This can be found at any DVLA. Purchase the "Altis Bus Driver".

Before being a Bus Driver:

  • The first step to becoming a bus driver is to gather yourself an "Altis Bus Driver" License from any of the DVLA shops around the island. (There is a Cash point option on the tablet in the HQ to withdraw money).
  • After that you need to go to "Hugo Ross" in Kavala where you will need to buy the "Marshall Clothing" and the "IDAP Hat (Black)".
  • Once equipped with the suitable attire you will need to buy yourself a "Van (Transport)" with a "GigaBus PSV" skin.
  • Then you simply drive up to a bus stop of your choice and press the Windows Key to interact with it (ensuring the bus is inside the "Bus Stop" zone).

The different routes:

Western Island Route (Kavala - Athira)

This route covers the western side of the island, starting off with "Bus Stop 1" in Kavala just at the end of the stores, and creating a looped circuit taking in the main road and towns, including the Airport and Athira.

Eastern Island Route (Airport - Pyrgos)

This route covers the eastern side of the island, starting off with "Bus Stop 101" in the car park of Altis International Airport. This is another looped circuit, taking in the edges of the Poseidon lands, including their main hub of activity, Pyrgos. It is worth noting that for this route it would be wise to purchase a Poseidon Border Pass as the cartel members may not want you operating the Bus Service without it. More information can be found on the Border Pass page.

During the Journey:

Once you have driven up to your first Bus Stop you will see a notification telling you where to go for the next stop on your selected bus route. Simply follow the road until you reach the next stop at which point you will automatically be given some money because you've completed one leg of the bus route. To start another leg simply press the "Windows Key" again. Follow the bus stop indicators as many times as you would like to earn some money, following the bus routes around the island.

Should you wish to pick up a passenger en-route from a bus stop, you can use the "control wheel" to select the "open doors" option at which point they can enter the vehicle. You can charge them a suitable fee or simply have a fun scenario with them, this is the roleplay entirely of your choice. More information on controls can be found at the controls page.

However, should you fail to complete a section of the route however, you will get a notification telling you that "You have failed your bus driving task.". Evidently not something you want to see.

Using the bus as a passenger:

Should you wish to use the bus as a passenger then simply walk up to the closest bus stop and look at it until a "Check Bus Services" option comes up which you can access with your scroll-wheel. Simply select it and you will see one of two options appear:

"No buses are running." - Exactly as it says on the tin. Why not start one yourself?

"One bus is running." (Or however many are running at that time.) - Simply wait for the bus to appear at your stop when the driver gets to you and you will be able to enter their bus and sit down. This is where you can create some roleplay with them and enjoy the journey.
