Roles

  • Group Transport
  • Reconnaissance

Design

Features

  • The Mi-48 Kajman is more heavily armoured than other helicopters of similar nature, such as its NATO counterpart that is not featured on the island. It is designed to be able to sustain damage and still operate to a functional degree, which makes it beneficial for more dangerous extraction, alongside of stressful situations.
  • The Mi-48 Kajman utilises 2 coaxial rotors for an increased amount of stability to be able to fullfil the necessary duties required.
  • It has the capacity to transport troops of smaller sizes - It features 8 passenger seats, alongside of the Pilot and a Gunner

Mobility

  • The 2 coaxial rotors provides an increased amount of stability
  • The Mi-48 Kajman is of heavier nature and is slightly less maneuverable than other helicopters available.

Noteable Traits

  • The Mi-48 Kajman is rather easy to detect from longer ranges using a Radar.
  • The Mi-48 Kajman is a rather heavy helicopter. Combining this with their lack of a tailrotor, means that everything ultimately depends on if the pilot is able to keep their rotors intact. Failure to do so has the potential to end fatally - There is no way of autorotating this helicopter once both rotors have been disabled.

Upgrades

Upgrades can be bought from the Aerial Modshop. The Mi-48 Kajman supports:

  • Transponder Upgrade - Up to level 2

Ownership

This vehicle is only available to be purchased or rented by specifically trained members of the Poseidon Cartel.

Variants

  • The unarmed Mi-48 Kajman is available in the standard pattern for the cartel - "Poseidon"

Trivia

  • The Mi-48 Kajman had inspiration drawn from multiple helicopters within the real word - The cockpit used was from the Mil "Mi-28". The rotors and tail boom were inspired by the Kamov "Ka-50"/"Ka-52", and the fuselage/passenger cabin were inspired by the Mil "Mi-24".
