About me

Hi, I’m Norman! Feel free to reach me on my forum profile or on Discord @Norman#6009

I'm quite a talkative individual and enjoying getting to meet as many different people as possible!

Los Santos

Mr Norman Jones

Los Santos NHS (2020 - present)

After moving to Los Santos following a length career as the Chief Medical Officer in Altis, Norman was keen to put his years of knowledge and administration experience to good use. His indepth knowledge of medical procedures, and fine eye for detail have meant he quickly found himself providing feedback and training to new recruits, along with leading First Aid courses for other public services. While he's very much found his feet in other civil service roles, his strong NHS grounding means he always has time to support when the NHS are short staffed.

Los Santos Judiciary (2020 - present)

A very principled man with a strong will to see people face justice. With the absence of an all bells and whistles legal system, Mr Jones was the ideal candidate for a founding role within the Los Santos Judiciary. With strong administrative skills, and seemingly endless amounts of time, Mr Jones now handles many of the organisational tasks that are required to keep the judicial system moving. Known for his pleasant demeanor but strong morals, Mr Jones isn't afraid of making tough decisions.

Los Santos City Council (2020 - present)

Following years of being in public office on Altis. Mr Jones was incredibly keen to see how he could start making a real difference to the lives of fellow citizens in Los Santos. Utilising his many contacts and strong persuasion skills he, alongside local business owners, lobbied the government into forming a semi-democratic City Council. Mr Jones has since been elected as Secretary and Chairman of the council at different points in time and is incredibly passionate about the local people have their voices heard.

Beekers Garage Salesman (2020 - present)

While new to the city, Norman found himself making good friends with Mr Wilf Williams, the owner of Beekers Garage in Paleto Bay. Back then Wilf explained the struggle in convincing people to buy from him, given the less-than-ideal location of his dealership. Norman has always had a certain skill for talking anyone into anything and has since found himself making healthy commission off referring his many connections to Beeker's when they wish to get themselves a new automobile.

Ms Karen Jones

Marabunta Grande (2021 - present)

Karen found the lack of impact she was making on Grove Street so frustrating that she wanted to see which other areas of the population she could help. Upon hearing about this El Salvadorian group causing chaos, Karen went about taking evening classes in Spanish, and hanging around with the 'Maras'. While she may not have passed on much to them, they certainly passed on a lot to her, and she's now living life in the fast lane, teetering on the fine line between legal and illegal.

Grove Street (2020)

When the IOPC shut down, Karen ended up getting made redundant. Due to her attitude and devious nature, she broke the terms and conditions entitling her to any severance payout, and as a result ended up homeless. While at her most vulnerable she was taken in by these flash individuals that went by the name 'Grove'. During her time in Grove she tried to support members of the group to getting their lives back on track, however as she later learned, for many they were just too far gone.

Independent Office for Professional Conduct (2020)

After a length career in the civil service, Karen decided she'd just about had enough of law enforcement thinking they could do what they wanted, and decided that her experience of following tight regulations and providing high levels of organisation could be put to better use with the IOPC. From it's very earliest days Karen was involved in making sure public officials were held to account.

Mrs Carrie Greenhalgh

Weazel News (2020 - present)

After going through a rough patch in her marriage with Superintendent Greenhalgh, Carrie then followed her brummie roots and took to the streets trying to obtain the latest scoop on life in Los Santos. Nowadays, Carrie can be found going around, asking the big questions to the Cities leading officials, trying to repair her broken marriage, or driving the Weazel Van like there's no tomorrow. An incredibly strong willed and independent woman, Carrie really makes sure that you've got the latest news coming in your ear.

Mr Hugo Jackson

The Firm (2020 - present)

Upon joining the Island, Mr Jackson ended up for sale in a slave auction ran by this illicit group that went by the name 'The Firm'. After being sold to a very wealthy Ms H Rose, Hugo managed to escape and rebuilt bridges with certain individuals within this group. While Hugo generally hides away in the shadows, to avoid recapture by his previous mistress, it's not yet known the extent of illegal activity he's found himself involved in through The Firm.

Altis Life

Altis National Health Service (2015 - present)

I've spent the majority of my time on RPUK as a member of the NHS. It's the only faction I've been apart of since I started playing on the server.

Starting as a "Doctor in Training" (now called Student) I managed to work my way up through the ranks and branches to the position of Chief Medical Officer in 2016.

On my journey I've been apart of the branches alongside the app and MTO team which really helped me later on from a leadership point of view. Through my time in post I implemented many controversial developments from a rank restructure, 4 helicopters and 5 land vehicles new to our garage, introduction of NHS Departments, changes in branch testing and student recruitment alongside a massive redesign in the administration and 'behind the scenes' database side of the faction. I've had the opportunity to interview over 100 different prospective medics, play 3,000 hours as medic (many more spent on TS!), rewrite all our documentation and made dozens of amazing friends.

Even though from 2019 I'm no longer a CMO and am enjoying my retirement as a Doctor in the Seniors department - I'm still a massive advocate for all things NHS! So if you ever have any questions, wanna come on patrol or just want a chat feel free to send me a message!

Altis Police Service (2016 - 18) (2020 - present)

My police career has always had to take a back seat due to my NHS position which is why I love the opportunity of being a Special Constable! I'm also a member of the Specialist Protection Group and enjoy playing a part in our proactive and preventative policing!

Previously I've been an Inspector in Athira/East Altis Constabulary along with being in both supporting units of NPAS and MPU. It's a great place to meet some awesome people both ingame and out of game and allows for some great camaraderie as you work together on operations or events. I'd definitely encourage everyone to give the police a go at some point!

British Airways (2016)

I was fortunate enough to be one of the founding leaders of a new startup whitelisted faction in 2015/2016 called British Airways (later renamed Altis Airlines). Although BA is no longer apart of the server, it was great to go through the process of managing our recruitment, documentation, whitelisting and people! It definitely helped prepare me for my time as Chief Medical Officer shortly after. If you search hard enough you may find some memories of BA (mainly our awesome aircraft) on the forums.

The Copper Kings (2015 - 2018)

Most of my best memories are from helping lead TCK in 2015-17. We managed to become one of the biggest and most well known roleplay-based gangs on ALUK. By the time we disbanded we'd had over 270 members, many of which still play today! We were fortunate enough to help influence many development decisions such as gang bases, redzones, advanced weapons and also competed with and against the police and UNMC on many occasions. I'm forever grateful for my humble welcome and beginning on the server as a Copper King.

Development

Having spent much time in Google Sheets being a faction leader, I'm quite fluent in Google Scripting and Java Script. I was also able to work quite closely with the System development team on our RPUK API which has proven a fantastic community asset that many have used in their own projects.

Through my CMO role I was fortunate enough to be able to support many administrative areas of the Police, UNMC, Poseidon and Staff Team with their own internal documents & spreadsheets and am always available if people require any debugging, support or just general advice on utilising the power of Google Scripts in your own projects.

Although a while ago I worked quite extensively on the AltisLifeUK training server and so have tried my hand at SQF and map development, I also designed our beautiful Kavala Hospital interior!

Professionally I have experience in a varied range of PHP, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS and jQuery so am more than happy to chat about programming!
