When to use

Generally deletion should be avoided, where possible redirects should instead be used to point to a relevant page.

Articles / Other

If a page is to be deleted, editors should check that there are no active links to the page using Special:WhatLinksHere.

Files

Files should have deletion requested as soon as they are unused (Usage is listed on the file's page) with no alternative usage in the short term.
