Within Altis Life there a variety of skills that you can unlock to give yourself improved stats or special abilities. These skills are unlocked by spending a Skill Point, a skill point is earned by reaching 100 Skill XP which can be gained by doing various activities across [[Altis]]. Doing runs or repairing vehicles are some of the ways you can earn Skill XP. Note that Skill XP is different from [[Profession]] XP.

In total you are able to earn and spend a maximum of 18 skill points at any time, once a skill is learnt it is permanently active unless you decide to "respect" your skills; doing so will un-assign all of your skill points and remove 33% of them, which can be regained, but will allow you to spend them again on whatever you wish.


To spend skills and activate abilities you will need to use the [[Controls#Skills|Skill Menu]]. This can be opened by either pressing the number "6" or via the Y menu and clicking "skills". Any skills that have special abilities that can be activated are also accessed within the [[Controls#Skills|Skill Menu]] by clicking the ability button.

Some skills also require other skills to be unlocked first before you can obtain them!
==Skill Trees==
Currently, the skill tree is split into 3 main categories; Rebel, Vigilante and Entrepreneur. Each section is specialised for specific purposes. 

[[Skills#The Rebel|The Rebel]] skill tree is aimed more towards improving the various aspects of leading a group related illegal life. It focuses on enhancing your criminal skills and ensuring you get the most cash for your ill deeds.

[[Skills#The Vigilante|The Vigilante]] skill tree is aimed towards being a benefit to society whilst also maintaining a sneaky way to approach others.

[[Skills#The Entrepreneur|The Entrepreneur]] skill tree is aimed towards being the best business man you can be. It focuses on enhancing your haggling skills to get the best prices possible for near every item you can find!
