Licenses
In order to purchase vehicles, do certain 'runs' you need licences. There is the variety of different licensing agreements across the island that allow you to stay legal while also help you with earning money. However, illegal runs still require you to purchase a licences in order to use the equipment and process your items. Different licences are purchased at different locations.
DVLA Licences
The government operates a DVLA building in each major city under its control allowing you to buy some basic licenses such as:

| Firearm License | £50,000 | Registers you with the DVLA to own a legal pistol. (Sold at Handgun stores) |
| Home License | £75,000 | Registers you with the DVLA to own your own House / Garage. |
Legal Run Licenses
There are a variety of different legal business that have also established themselves on the island that each run their own licensing scheme in return for processing a variety of raw products that you can gather by yourself, these are as follows:

| Sand Processing | £10,000 | Registers you with the Sand Mining guild allow you to process your sand into glass. |
| Copper Processing | £10,000 | Registers you with the Copper Mining guild allowing you to turn copper into ingots. |
| Aluminium Processing | £10,000 | Registers you with the Aluminium Mining guild allowing you to turn bauxite into ingots. |
| Iron Processing | £50,000 | Registers you with the Iron Mining guild allowing you to turn iron into ingots. |
| Diamond Processing | £70,000 | Registers you with the Diamond Mining guild allowing you to cut diamonds. |
| Cement Mixing License | £10,000 | Registers you with the Rock Quarry group allowing you access to their cement mixers. |
| Salt Processing | £20,000 | Registers you with the Salt Guild allowing you to process your salt. |
| Silica Processing | £20,000 | Registers you with Silicon Valley allowing you to put the magic smoke inside |
All of the above licenses can be purchased at the relevant processor marked on the map (Oil Processing is sold at the Oil Processor for example).
Illegal Run Licenses
There are also a variety of criminal groups who have set up their own versions of the system for illegal goods found across the island, the Altis Government does not condone these groups at all and anyone caught taking part in these activities will be subject to the authority of the Altis Police Service:

| Meth Training | £150,000 | Register with the local chefs to train you in cooking meth and giving you access to their trailer |
| Uranium Training | £150,000 | Register with the Illegal Uranium scientists to train you in refining uranium to its purist form. |
Job Licenses
The Altis government has also setup licensing schemes for a few jobs that require each application to have experience across the island, using money as the barrier for entry. These jobs are as follows:

| AAN News | £300,000 | Registers you as a AAN News journalist and gives you access to the AAN news reporter Shop. |
| Bus Driver | £500,000 | Registers you as a trained bus driver allowing you to complete the 2 bus routes on Altis. |
Rebel Shop Licenses
There are also a variety of criminal establishments who have set up their own import business for illegal weapons found across the island, the Altis Government does not condone these groups at all and anyone caught taking part in these activities will be subject to the authority of the Altis Police Service:
