Organisational Structure

Ranking Structure

Please follow the chain of command when approaching people with any issues. Remember that should you respect each other no matter the situation, we are all here to work for the NHS and make the NHS the best possible place it can be. The chain of command should be used where possible. Exceptions can be made if/when required. Ultimately a Director's decision is final.

Emergency Care Assistant - This is the first rank you will get within the NHS, this will be a training period for yourself, to learn the techniques of being a medic and helping you get a full understanding of what is expected from you as an ECA.

Technician - This is the rank where you will be able to put all you have learned during your training period into practice and on a more regular basis, by being able to patrol on your own and help out members of the community.

Paramedic - If you have shown your competence you have gained this rank. You are one step closer to joining a unit should you want to. You can patrol on your own, keep going though, better stuff is still to come.

Specialist Paramedic - Now you have selected to become part of a unit. You can now work with your branch to help newcomers to the NHS and utilise the bonuses that you are offered. What lies in front of you will be dictated by what branch you have chosen.

Advanced Paramedic - You’ll now have a little more responsibility and with that comes a little more work. Depending on the department you have selected to be part of, the responsibilities you will be tasked to undertake will vary. This could be anything from providing feedback or tests for your department.

Doctor - This is the head of the unit. This person will be involved in the running of their department/unit. Making sure that its staff are completing the jobs to an excellent standard, and will be in charge of maintaining a working environment for the branch.

Director - The highest rank within the NHS. Ultimately the final decision will be made by this person. They will also be working closely with the Doctors to make sure the NHS is running like a well-oiled machine. Any disciplinaries will be conducted with this person. They have worked their way through the ranks from bottom to the top, so will also have a wealth of knowledge.
